Event Schedule - January 27 & 28, 2012 – Vans Skatepark, The Block, Orange, CA Featuring the top Amateur Bowl skaters in two age divisions: 15 and under & 16 and over. All skaters are by invitation only. The confirmed list of skaters will be on posted on January 2, 2012 Friday January 27, 2012 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM – Registration and Check in 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Practice – 15 and under 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM – Practice – 16 and older 15 & Under : 5 heats of 6 skaters – Top 6 advance to Finals + Heimana Reynolds(2011 WCS Am Bowl Series Champion) & Alex Sorgente(last year’s Champ) 16 & Under:3 heats of 6 skaters–Top 6 advance to Finals+ Austin Poynter(last year’s Champ) Saturday January 28, 2012 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM – Registration and Check in 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM – 15 & Under - Practice 10:30 AM – 12:00 AM – 16 & Over – Practice 15 & Under: Qualifying Round – top 5 skaters advance to final 12:00 PM - 12:15 PM – Heat 1 warm-up 6 skaters 12:15 PM – 12:30 PM – Intro Run + 12 minute jam in order 12:30 AM – 12:45 PM – Heat 2 warm-up 6 skaters 12:45 PM – 1:00 PM – Intro Run + 12 minute jam in order 1:00 PM - 1:15 PM – Heat 3 warm-up 6 skaters 1:15 PM – 1:30 PM – Intro Run + 12 minute jam in order 1:30 AM – 1:45 PM – Heat 4 warm-up 6 skaters 1:45 PM – 2:00 PM – Intro Run + 12 minute jam in order 2:00 PM – 2:15 PM - Heat 5 warm-up 6 skaters 2:15 PM – 2:30 PM – Intro run & 12 minute jam in order 16 & Over: Qualifying Round – top 6 skaters advance to final 2:30 PM – 2:45 PM Heat 1 warm-up 6 skaters 2:45 PM – 3:00 PM - Intro run & 12 minute jam in order 3:00 PM – 3:15 PM – Heat 2 warm-up 6 skaters 3:15 PM – 3:30 PM - Intro run & 12 minute jam in order 3:30 PM – 3:45 PM – Heat 3 warm-up 6 skaters 3:45 PM – 4:00 PM – Intro run & 12 minute jam in order 4:00 PM – 4:15 PM – Heat 4 warm-up – 6 skaters 4:15 PM – 4:30 PM – Intro run & 12 minute jam in order 15 & Under: Finals 4:30 PM – 4:40 PM – Warm-up 4:40 PM – 5:00 PM – Intro run & 15 minute jam in order 16 & Over: Finals 5:00 PM – 5:10 PM – Warm –up 5:10 PM – 5:30 PM – Intro run & 15 minute jam in order 5:45 PM – AWARDS Event criteria: Our goal is to feature the top bowl skaters in each age division! - 15 and under: the top 20 skaters from WCS 15 & under 2011 Bowl Rankings plus top 3 from the Venice Throwdown + 7 wildcards. 30 invited skaters total. Heimana Reynolds, the 2011 WCS 15 & under Amateur Bowl Champion is advanced directly to the finals and last year’s winner Alex Sorgente is also advanced directly to the finals. - 16 and over : 24 invited skaters. Austin Poynter is advanced directly to the finals. - Skater over 18 years of age, that skated a pro contest such as X Games Park , Pro Tec Pool Party, Bondi, Dew Tour, etc. in 2011 are not included. - Age refers the age of the skater during the year 2012. - Each skater must have a park waiver on file at the park or need to have a parent at registration to sign one. - Helmets are required. Pads are suggested. A prize purse of $5,000 will be split between the finalist in each division, with the winner in each taking home $1,000. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: - A list of competitors will be given to park on January 1. All competitors will be able to skate free up until the event. Please be nice to the park staff when checking in with them. - You can invite up to 4 people as guests. We will need names for a master list. Please can e-mail your list of guests to: Mario_Bonaventura@vfc.com and copy kristy_van_doren@vfc.com This needs to be done as soon as possible. - Friday check-in/ registration will be up the stairs and Saturday event will also be directed up the stairs to enter. We will have pizza delivered for that night practice - Private contest not open to public - Like last year, there will be a mini ramp Amateur Final comp going on as well (a separate comp open to invited finalist from the Wrap Tour) - Areas closed off for contest is outside street course and combi.
